Blee! Sunday, I picked up an old rifle from my parent's place. My uncle had passed away and my aunt wanted to get the rifle out of the house. I bought it off her for two reasons. One, I wanted to keep such items in the family, and two, I really wanted it! ;-) It's an old .44 carbine 5 shot semi-automatic rifle that loads just like a shotgun. The barrel isn't too long, nor is the gun too heavy overall. Since, it doesn't have any obtrusive clips or a large capacity, it makes for a great "big game" gun. Granted, a 230 grain .44 calibur bullet is a little heavy to be shooting deer with, but a well placed shot shouldn't be too damaging to the venison. It needs a thorough cleaning. Last night, Mark and I shot about a dozen rounds through it at a local indoor gun range, resulting in a handful of jams and a double-feed. It definitely needs a good cleaning. I really enjoyed shooting is .45 Tournament-grade Kimber, a semi-automatic pistol. That gun shoots so smoothly, and I've got such a nice grouping with it. Too bad I can't afford the retail price on one like it, over $700. (ugh) Oh, well. There are other things to purchase before a hand-gun. i.e. A house would be nice. ;-) Anyway, back to work. ^chewie
