Finally, we have a working dryer. That is to say, I've finally hooked it up. I have a couple things left to do in order to secure the rigid pipe I had to drop from the basement ceiling the wall, but in the mean time, it seems to work well. I could redo it the "Right Way" and buy a couple 45 deg elbows to move the drop over to the wall (3.75 inches away), but that means I'd have to buy new gas fittings and flexible hose. The quick fix, a couple of 2x4's nailed to the brick w/masonite nails. ;-) If you're in Saint Paul and have a chance to watch a Saint's baseball game (minor league, outdoor stadium, etc), do it, but remember to bring sun tan lotion. YEOWCH! I'm as red as a lobster on the top of my legs and the back of my neck. I've got the dorky "sunglasses tan", too. ;-) The game was great; the most fun I've had at a baseball game since 7th grade. Anyway, my workstation at home's not up to ssh into, so I can't really read my email today until I go home and fire it up. Small problem. No outlets in the basement. I'm going to have to use the lightsocket adaptor trick until I can run new lines to the breaker. We're not going to be finishing the basement, so I don't know if I have to run conduit or not. I'll have to pick up a "Home Electrician for Dummies" book or something. I have other outlets to fix and rewire anyway, and we still have yet to map out which outlets go to which circuit breaker. Lots of work to do. At least cable's getting put in today. ;-) ^chewie
